Insurance Policies

Vanderburgh County provides medical group health insurance and life insurance for elected officials and full-time County employees. The County Auditor manages these benefits for all eligible County employees with the exception of the life insurance policies for the Vanderburgh County Sheriff's deputies.

County Flu Shot Clinics - 2019

Notice from Commissioners/ Health Department on September 18, 2019:
The Health Department is working with Walgreens to provide flu vaccines for county employees who are interested. In order to fulfill the contract with Walgreens and allow them to plan ahead, we are asking those who are interested to answer a few questions. The survey link is listed below. Once we have worked out the details, all interested employees will be contacted with more information about the clinic dates and times.   • Scroll down to the Appointment Locator and make a selection from the drop-down menu.
  • When making a Medication Refill Appointment, allow time for the clinic to prepare your refill so your wait time will be as short as possible. If a Medication Refill Appointment is made at least 24 hours in advance, the refill can be picked up any time during the scheduled day of the Medication Refill Appointment. Medication Refill Appointments made the same day can be picked up at the time of the appointment or thereafter.

    There is NO out-of-pocket cost for using the Clinic.

  • Treatments for illnesses and injuries (such as sore throat, ear/eye      infections, headaches, minor burns, coughs, cuts and contusions)
  • Weight and/or blood pressure checks
  • Minor procedures (such as removal of skin tags, moles and warts)
  • Allergy management (including allergy injections)

    Affordable Care Act (ACA) Notices

    Life Insurance

    Effective April 1, 2005, a new Term Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance policy will be carried through MetLife on all eligible Vanderburgh County employees.
  • Eligible employees age 64 and under will receive $15,000 of coverage.
  • Eligible employees age 64 and over will receive $10,000 of coverage.
  • Cost will be a penny a month.
